Chaplain Rickey Hargrave and wife Julie.
Rickey grew up in rural Collin County, Texas, the eldest of four children born to Richard and Aletha Hargrave.
During his first senior year at Dallas Baptist College, Rickey met, then married the love of his life, Julie. Julie was a perfect mate for Rickey being from Fort Worth: highly articulate and brilliant in mathematics. Add beauty and grace and it is easy to see why Rickey would be attracted to her. Only the Grace of God attracted him to her.
Julie was raised in the wonderful city of Fort Worth,Texas. She is the Head of the Department of Mathematics
at First Baptist Academy and is an Adjunct Professor at Dallas Baptist University in the School of Mathematics.
Brilliant in beauty, brains, and Spirit; a most excellent Lady.
Two children were born, Stephen and Christy: both with unique gifts and abilities that make them highly
successful in their chosen fields.
Graduate studies at Southwestern Seminary, Luther Rice Seminary, and Liberty University helped enhance
the basis of the theological and trauma work that keeps Chaplain Hargrave active. Rickey holds a M.Div
from Luther Rice University and has completed work on the D.Div. at Master's International.
Training with the International Conference of Police Chaplains, Federation of Fire Chaplains, International
Critical Incident Stress Foundation and the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists provides resources
that are used daily in ministering to God's people.
Our daughter, Christy, and her husband Matt Cooper have made us Grandparents: TWIN GIRLS! We are so
excited to introduce Mallory and Marlo Cooper, pictured here at 7 months old.
